China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronic Products Import and Export (CCCME) declared that China’s PV industry has reached an agreement with European Commission on adopting price undertaking in imports of China’s solar panel. MOFCOM spokesman Shen Danyang made comments to applause and welcome such agreement.
Mr. Shen Danyang said that China-EU PV products dispute is the largest trade friction case involving the largest amount of money in trade history of China-EU and it is one of the most important issues in present China-EU economic relations. Leaders from both parties attach much importance to this issue and they have extended their goodwill of solving this trade dispute by negotiations at different occasions.
Mr. Shen Danyang said that Ministry of Commerce encouraged the relative chambers and associations in China’s PV industries to advance negotiations with EU’s investigation institution and CCCME has gone to Europe with domestic enterprises many times to communicate with relative institutions. After the preliminary ruling was released on June 5, China’s part has conducted many rounds intensive negotiations with European Commission relating to the price issue, which has made much effort. The negotiations are positive and constructive, which shows the two parties’ pragmatic and flexible attitude as well as the wisdom to solve problems.
Mr. Shen Danyang mentioned that it is very normal to have trade friction for
China and EU, between which, the trade turnover has come to such a great number.
Therefore, we should take it rationally and deal with it in a proper and
satisfactory way. EU is China’s largest export market for PV products. To reduce
the trade friction between the two parties by dialogues and negotiations is
conducive to open, cooperative, stable, and sustainable China-EU economic
relation, which fits the mutual benefits of both parties.
Mr. Shen
Danyang stressed that PV products involve the climate changes issue and new
energy issue that are the common concern of human being. It is conducive to a
sound and stable development of global green energy to deal with the trade
friction relating to PV products in a proper way. China-EU PV industries have
conducted good cooperation and enjoyed a high level of integration. China would
like to try its best to step up the exchanges and cooperation with EU so as to
preserve the sound development of PV industry in good order.
